Mixed Feelings

Well we finally found out the date Gary will be leaving to start his Air Force Officer Training in Montgomery, Alabama....April 19, 2011. We are both really excited because we've been waiting for so long but I must admit that I have mixed feelings. While I am so excited that we have something to look forward to and we can get on with our lives, I am definitely dreading the 3 months we will be apart (hopefully I'll be able to fly down there a couple times). And I thought 2 weeks in Tonga was a long time! Thank goodness for family...they'll probably get sick of me by the end! I am so proud of Gary and all his accomplishments thus far, and I know that we haven't even started this great adventure!

The Move

So we finally moved to a new apartment! It was a lot of work (mostly for Gary lifting boxes!) but it was well worth it! Just a few things I HATE about moving:
1. Your stuff seems to double, even triple when you have to place it all in boxes.
2. No matter how many boxes you've packed the apartment still seems messy.
3. Dust. Enough said.
4. Feeling like I now have lung cancer due to inhaling so much oven cleaner/mr. clean.
And a few things I LOVE about moving:
1. Deseret Industries.
2. The dumpster.
3. A dust free new apartment.
4. Redecorating.
Here's a couple of pictures of our old apartment and one of our new place.

4 Very Fast Years!

Yesterday was our 4 year anniversary! Can't believe it's been 4 years already! Looking back there's many things that I just can't believe...Here are a few of the big ones...
1. We are still living in the SAME 1 bedroom apt we started in....only until Aug (yay!)
2. Gary has graduated with his bachelor's in Business Mgt/Finance
3. I have my registered nursing license and graduate in July with my bachelor's in nursing (finally!)
4. Gary has been excepted into the Air Force as a Combat Systems Officer
5. My LITTLE sister is getting married in just over one week!
Looking back there are many more adventures and experience we've had together and I just can't wait to see what the future brings!!

And The Verdict Is..............

Gary got excepted as an officer in the Air Force! We are so excited. He will be working/flying the unmanned air vehicles. He will go to Basic Officer Training sometime in the first part of next year. That will be for 3 months in Alabama and I can't go with him :( After that we will be off to who knows where for more training. So we definitely have a long road ahead of us and sometimes I wonder what we have gotten ourselves into! But I know this is what we're suppose to be doing and we'll go where we're suppose to go. We just can't wait to get the three months of training over with! On a smaller note we got a new apartment that is a little bit bigger than the one we're in now. It's a brand new building and we can move in on Aug 2nd! So we are excited about that as well! It will be so nice to have a two bedroom apt after living in a one bedroom for the past 4 years! I can't wait!

Life is good

I am trying to do my best with this blogging thing...so here goes! Life has been really good lately! Gary has been working for my dad during tax season and finished up today. We are so grateful he had this job for the last couple of months! It sure helps the pocket book! I am still working the medical/surgical floor here at Madison. I love it (most of the time)! What I love most is working full time...or 3 12 hour shifts a week! It definitely is nice to have a couple days off although the 12 hours shifts can be quite long! We are still waiting to here back from the Air Force, we should be hearing something in June and we can't wait! We are excited for this possible adventure in our lives! Who knows were it will take us. As for school, I only have one class left (yay!) and then I will have my bachelors in nursing. I can't wait! I am so sick of school! Although Gary thinks after I graduate it's on to a master's degree in family nurse practitioner...but we'll see. I don't know if I want to do another year and a half of schooling! We also just received new callings...Gary and I are teaching the marriage and family relations class (ok everyone laugh now!). Pretty crazy right? We don't really know a whole lot about parenting, but thank goodness for church manuals! I was also just called as an assistant girl's camp director! I know it will be a lot of work but I am really excited! So for the most part life is good! We can't wait to see what lies ahead!

UPDATE:

Ok so I guess it is time for an update! (once a year isn't enough...) Gary and I are doing great! Gary graduated from BYU-I in July 2009, and I am still working on the medical surgical floor at the hospital. We are on the job hunt for Gary and I love working at the hospital. Last December we went on a cruise with Gary's family to Mexico. It was so much fun! I'm not gonna lie though...it was weird not being in the snow on Christmas day! The sand in Cobo was amazing though! Life is good!

Vegas Baby!

Good Times!
